How can I get a cool, calm, relaxed mind without doing pansy bullshit like thinking happy thoughts?

Im in pursuit of controlling anxiety and getting a clear, calm, level headed mind but Im sick and tired of trying all this pansy **** like 'think happy thoughts and reject negative thinking' and meditation and stuff. Ive tried it. I can do it. But I feel my estrogen rising and feel like a softy.

How can I get a cool, calm, relaxed mind without doing pansy bullshit like thinking happy thoughts?
You don't really seem open to new ideas since you have tried everything.

For me, I go up in the mountains away from people and just sit there and watch the lake below or take a blanket and lie down between the trees and look up at the sky. I don't meditate. I just sit there and relax and listen to the sounds of nature.

I don't know if you live in an area where you can enjoy nature like this, but if you do, give it a try before writing it off.
Reply:For some people, exercise such as a long walk or jogging can help relax the mind. You can also practice deliberately distracting your mind when you feel anxious - for example, if you like baseball, then think about a baseball game you have watched. Writing in a journal can help; you can write about what triggered the anxiety, what things make your anxiety worse and what things seem to help you think clearly and in a relaxed manner. Periodically review your journal and see if you can detect any patterns that you can change.
Reply:different things work for different people. For you i would guess maybe relaxation - sitting in the sun? Or something like that?

Is there a certain way to cut a pansy?

I want to press some will I hurt it if I cut it wrong?

Is there a certain way to cut a pansy?
no-- just decide if you want some of the stem or not. The part with the most moisture is that at the back of the petals-- so that will require more drying or more pressure.

good luck

What are some good comebacks when someone calls you a pansy?

someone i know has a bad habit of calling people less-masculine than he is, a pansy. what's a good way to break his habit?

What are some good comebacks when someone calls you a pansy?
a pansy? wtf is that who even use that sh!t anymore. ok ok tell him he need to stop acting like a arrogant litle ***** and go stuff oatmeal into his hairy vagina and eat it
Reply:Tell him you've got a 8 (9, or whatever) inch ____ and that you'll show him yours if he shows you his.

Most guys who use the word "pansy" generally are homophobes. A comment like the above may make him think you are gay, thereby causing him to stop using a gay-derogatory name. It may simply shock the hell out of him, especially if you never say things like that.
Reply:1. You can ignore him. Granted, it's not a comeback. per se, but it does irritate people who want attention.

2. Tell him "your sister/mom didn't think so last night," or something to that effect.

3. Kick him in the nuts. He'll forget all about your supposed pansiness.
Reply:who the phuck calls someone a pansy?! this is 2008! thats. Call him a sh*t face, or workout or ignore him.
Reply:Just tell him that only people who are insecure in their own masculinity questions that of others!

in case you needed to know it's in a small plastic pot.

Whats the lifespan of a pansy?
Check inside the leaves to see if there are more flowers comming up, make sure to deadhead them too. Yes you can plant it, and you may get more flowers in the fall off them when done with spring/early summer blooms. Here is more info:

Reply:Pansies have a long life expectancy..They are usually to chicken **** to try anything exciting or dangerous.
Reply:It is an annual. You could take it outside and it will bloom again.
Reply:Pansies grow outside in the fall, winter and spring most places, and despite their name are the hardiest blooming annual. They will readily bloom outside while it is below freezing, and don't mind a dusting of snow. They typically don't like hot weather though, and I have never had any luck and getting any to live through the summer.
Reply:Pansy are a outdoor plant. If you plant them this year they usually come back the next year only smaller. They usually shrink down to a wild violet size. But I've had them last as many as 6 years as long as winters aren't too bad.
Reply:Pansies are considered annuals or short-lived perennials. Though some will self seed. Many flower from April to November (basically any time the temperature is above freezing). They thrive in cool weather. They like rich, well drained soil, with sun or light shade. Spider mites, slugs, and aphids can be a problem. Susceptible to rot if soil is too moist. Also high nitrogen fertilizers can lead to rot.

Otherwise, they are pretty easy to grow. Some types (especially the Johnny Jump Up, which has much smaller flowers) seem to "pop up" anywhere in the garden, away from where it's original planted spot is.
Reply:Pansies love cool weather. They will bloom from Fall through Spring. As the weather warms they will become leggy and develop seeds which will start new plants in your yard next Fall.

You can put your plant on the porch or in the ground. They also enjoy shade more than sun, again because they like cooler temperatures.

You can also give it some fertilizer if you like to promote blooms. Also, you can brush the snow from the plant they don't mind. When it is really cold the plant sends the water in it's leaves to it's roots and will revive when the temperatures get back up. That's it's survival trick!

What do you think of the NC Governor saying Clinton makes Rocky look like a pansy?

Was it a gay slur? Or was he using pansy like the intial definition and only referring to a "wuss" in general?

A few, not many, seem to be getting upset by this. Are people being too politically sensitive? Or is there reason for concern?

What do you think of the NC Governor saying Clinton makes Rocky look like a pansy?
If he had said "Fairy" I would be offended.

Honestly I didn't hear this comment at all, but I don't think "pansy" means anything really.

I know a lot of "Pansies" who are straight, lol ;)

However what really matters is what the person who used the word meant by it.

Really I just think he was trying to demonstrate that Hillary is tough, which we all know, it's not like she's the new kid on the block. ;)
Reply:No,It was not meant as gay slur..while historically the term pansy is considered an offensive slang toward homosexuals it is equally defining of any man in general whom are considered weaker, timid or just unassertive by nature.

Many words in the english language have multiple meanings..what matters is the context in which they are spoken. Mr. Easley was speaking to her strengths and will to carry on as a candidate..by placing hers above a character known for his..
Reply:awwwwwww, he called Rocky a pretty flower?!?! :-D

Seriously, obviously, he didn't mean anything by it. People get worked up over the smallest things. Well, I THINK THAT YOU'RE A PRETTY FLOWER!!! AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE, I STILL THINK YOU ARE!!! jeez, pansy can mean many different things. Doesn't mean that the world has to go to shreds. I'm an Obama supporter, and I still think this is B.S.
Reply:It was a completely overstated motivational ad. No gay slur. Duh. It was a dumb statement anyway.
Reply:he knows she is tough that is why he is backing her, many are now seeing she is the only logical choice for Democrats I have three professional black neighbors they all hate Obama!
Reply:Hillary is tough unlike limp wrist Barry Obama.
Reply:Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill .

How do you collect the seeds from a pansy?

I have two pansy and they so refreshing to the room. and i want to grow more rather then go to the store and buy more. but i i don't know how to collect the seeds?

How do you collect the seeds from a pansy?
You can leave the blooms on the stem, and it will form seed pod after the flowers are done. You can pick them when it's dry and brown. By the way, you have pansies in your room? Are they getting enough sunshine? Put them by the window, so they can get as much as sunlight. They need that.
Reply:punch him in the gut and do a little digging.
Reply:threaten you'll beat him up and he'll just give them to you, (pansies = cowards)
Reply:cosmos is right.....but you may not get the same flower color...or flower at all....this is the realm of hybridization............

How to plant pansy's in a straight line around the curb?

I bought a flat of pansy's which I would like to plant around my curb for color. I want to plant them in a line around the curbing. So do I still leave 6-8 inches in between?

Will they grow closer, so they form a line without an empty space?

How to plant pansy's in a straight line around the curb?
Plant them about 4" apart. Take two pencils, tie some yarn about 6' long, poke the pencils or Popsicle sticks (whatever) into the ground--making a plumb line--then place your plants in at 4" intervals. They'll look beautiful-especially when they fill out.
Reply:Just pull a string tied to a stick pegged to the starting point and the end point, to get the straight line.
Reply:Plant them closer together.

But do you really want a straight line? Try some shape that is not a straight line. You might like it better.
Reply:Pansys don't spread to much, if you want a solid unbroken line, i plant them 5 1/2 inches apart, and really loosen the soil so they can spread easily. watter them with miracle grow.
Reply:How to plant pansy's in a straight line around the curb?

With your garden hose.

Place your garden hose away from your curb the distance that you want and make it follow the curve.

Play with it until you get the line you want and use it as a guide to plant your pansy's.

Yes they will fill but you may have to help them out.
Reply:yes.yes. start the front row following the curb line. then the second row goes behind and in between the two in front. the next rows complete the diamond pattern
