My pansies have floppy petals... is that normal? How can I make them to be less floppy?

I have planted some Giant Majestic Pansies in a window box. They are in a pretty well sun area... they get approx. 5 hrs of sun every morning. I water when soil is dry and it is well fertilized. The plants are giving plenty of flowers, but they petals of the flowers are very floppy... It's that normal for the Giant Majestic pansies? How can I make them have more stable petals??

Well you are looking after these pansies perfectley but the truth is this is normel leave the flowers do not dead head and let the flower heads go to seed and plant them next year.

Why would anyone support Dennis Kucinich? The guy is such a pansy he probably had a menstrual cycle.?

Isn't that the liberal goal for every male?

Why would anyone support Dennis Kucinich? The guy is such a pansy he probably had a menstrual cycle.?
Couldn't the same be said about all of the Democratic candidates??
Reply:Maybe some people like him because of that. The world is really getting crazy.
Reply:Obviously you know nothing of Dennis, his backround or his family.

Dennis, when mayor of Cleveland fought the establishment to save Cleveland thousands of dollars, and did not back down from any fight with the powers that be in city hall.

I know the story of how he run Cleveland into default, but that was a total fabrication. The reason Cleveland went into default was one George Forbes, the council president, controlled the purse strings in Cleveland, and he had made the decision to sell our municipal light plant to some of his cronies for next to nothing, and Dennis stopped that in it;s tracks. From then on, Forbes would not turn loose any money unless it was to be spent on the blacks in Cleveland, claiming "it was the people's money, and if it didn't help the blacks, it wasn't going to happen". The result, Cleveland went into default.

Dennis, despite his demeanor, is probably one of handfull of honest politicians in the whole country, a rare commodity indeed.
Reply:People who are adamantly against the Iraqi war would. He is by far the most anti-war candidate available.

Guess you will have to ask the person who wrote it.

Why am I such a pansy when it comes to plucking out my eye that offended me?

Me too. I hate plucking out my eye. Maybe I just need a sharper knife.

Why am I such a pansy when it comes to plucking out my eye that offended me?
We're all spiritually blind anyway so what diff does it make?
Reply:I offer an extortionately expensive training that guarantees your eyes will never use harsh language again.
Reply:My eyes have not offended me, but my neighbours eyes have. Should I pluck their eyes out to save my neighbours from damnation too, even if they are screaming and struggling?

I think it is important to share the religion with my neighbours.
Reply:Because you enjoy what you see with that eye way to much. It isn't easy to stop sinful thinking and behavior.
Reply:If you know reading 'Hustler" is wrong "pluck it from you " and get rid of it. That's what he means.Use your coconut!
Reply:Eye pluckers aren't very common any more. Just say a couple of Hail Mary's instead.
Reply:Join the club, sister. I'm no eye-plucker either. LOL
Reply:How about chopping off your hand that causes you to sin? My hand doesn't tempt me to sin, though. My brain is the manufacturer of sinful ideas.
Reply:God would really not want you to.

Pansies, impatients, etc.

How do you pinch flowers, in order to promote growth?
Pinching Back: To encourage plants to fill out, remove the growth bud at the end of the main stem when the plant is in its rapid growth stage that precedes first flower bud formation. For bedding plants, the best time to do this is when you're planting them out in the garden. They're at a good stage of growth and, in addition, the removal of some of their foliage will help balance any root damage they may suffer in the transplanting process. Plants grown from seeds sown directly in the garden should be pinched back when they're 3 to 4 inches tall.

Simply pinch out or snap off the last inch or so of the main growing tip. This will redirect the plant's energy from this single shoot to numerous latent side buds -- there is a latent growth bud located at the node (the point on the stem where each leaf is attached).

Several days after pinching, you'll see several small shoots pushing from the remaining stem. These will grow into a cluster of stems to replace the original single stem. The plant will be shorter, stockier, and fuller than if no pinching had been done. It will also be neater-looking, more compact, and have many more branches on which to produce flowers. A second pinching can be done two weeks after the first one if an even fuller plant is desired.

When to start planting outdoors in Central Virginia??

I live in Central Virginia, and I am very, very eager to get out there and start planting!! I've put some pansies and begonias out and they're doing well. I am potting an herb garden, and some daisies, random flowers, and veggies. What if I potted them, brought them outside during the day and in at night until the end of April? Or is the beginning of May better? Please help before I run and stick everything in the ground tomorrow- haha.

Wow, you've got the gardening bug bad! Me too.

We both have to wait until the last frost date, mine in April 14th. Go here for your date:

Ugg anyone decorated a flower pot?

Ok I am making my Mom and Mom in law a pot with mixed plants I am using ivy, pansies, geraniums and i the center a spikie like Rhea. My ? is I want to take picutres of my daughters and glue to the pot decorate the pot wiht snap shots and then a gloss sill on it. Any suggestions.

Ugg anyone decorated a flower pot?
My suggestion is to plant the plants in normal pots, then buy a bigger pot, (in terracotta or acrylic-painted metal, no texture to the surface), to decopupage the pictures on. Pictures will not stay stuck to a pot that gets wet!

Rough up the surface of the outer pot a little with some sand paper. Get high quality copies of your photos made: either print them yourself on regular copy paper or have copes done at a copy shop. Photo paper does not decoupage well.

With a paint brush, apply decoupage medium to the pot where you would like the photo to go, then carefully lay the photo over that spot and gently rub to remove air bubbles. Apply another coat of medium over the photo. Repeat as desired.

You can get the decoupage medium at a craft store, as well as disposable foam brushes. If you want to totally cover the pot with images, use photos AND copies of your children's art work. Your mother and mother in law will LOVE it!
Reply:If you want illustrations acrylic paints are good but expensive and are almost impossible to remove
