Faery beleivers: Why do you choose to beleive in winged pansy Sprites rather than traditional godlike Fae?

You know, the goblins, elves, shide, banshees, etc. that woill smite you if you make them mad and reward you if you honor them. Trust me, theres no winged pansy in real mythology surrounding the Fae.

And, there are many different kinds of Fae. The ones that people refer to as fairies are not at all like the real thing, I agree. But they are also not all evil creatures out to get mankind.. let's present a balanced view, please.
