Pansy care?

I have never planted pansies - any special care for them? Do I pinch off the dead blooms like other flowers.

Pansy care?
Pansies like cool weather and hot sun will make plants slow down. So when weather warms up I always put my pots of pansies in shaded spot. Once they are done blooming it doesn't hurt to trim them back to nice little base and let them replenish themselves and you will have blooms all summer and fall. I fertilize about every 6 wks w/Miracle Grow.

Don't overwater or leaves with start turning yellow.

Good luck!
Reply:not only should you pinch off the dead ones but, the more you pick the more you'll have.

so pick the flowers as well and put them in little vases and enjoy them in the house.

of course when you pick don't pick everything off the plant. Leave some outside as well!! (lol)

every few days refresh your indoor ones and you will find that the outside display gets bigger and better.

enjoy
Reply:pansy's and johnny jump ups are such happy flowers I hope you noticed that they always have a smile on the flower very easy flower to grow I agree with everyone and there comments but 1 more important thing when you are deadheading(pinching back the flowers that have started dieing ) watch for little pods when the flower starts dieing they are not on every stem but pull this pods off they are full of seeds if you let them dry and throw them around you will have great little plants all over the place. These plants self seed like crazy.
Reply:you will get more blooms if you pinch no special care just water
Reply:Deadhead and fertilize with blood meal. Pansies LOVE blood meal.
