Let's change the Constitution to mandate that the children of Congressman must serve in active status. Then you might be surprised at how our interest in using our military to solve the world's problems drops.

Americans are so terribly polarized by the mess they are in on so many levels. Do you really think such questions and name calling and insults will help the situation any?





Personally I think it is good to see people standing up against the destructive inhuman strategies of the American military. And no,I am not a lib or a rep, just someone who has eyes to see. Eyes and mind not suckered into the propagandized views promoted by the government run media. Eyes that do NOT hate but see with compassion how frightened people like you are to be in the state you are in now.





I am sure under normal circumstances you are a very nice lady, but your question reeks of hatred.... the very hatred that your government wants you to have. The very hatred that will consume you so much that you, the american people, will continue to subdivide and subdivide so you are easy pickins.





United you stand, divided you fall. Keep sniping at your liberals... liberals keep sniping at your republicans... this is what they want! They want you divided and arguing, it keeps you away from discovering the truth of your situation... and baby it is pretty bad from where I stand. Not that mine is much better... we are all in this crud together.

Please stop the bickering Americans. See who your common enemy is and move on it. As for those students, you may not approve, but if you saw how these recruiters even go after the mentally handicapped, you might understand. Their job is to lie, lie, lie, to get bodies for their bosses.





And those bosses do NOT have good things in store for you. I wonder why those darlings of America, the Bush brats, Satanists like their parents, are not enlisted. Certainly it would be better for them than the lives of overindulgence and precociousness they now lead. I am sure Cheney's son.. oh.. daughter? would be a wonderful soldier. How about the children of other prominent Americans? It is a class thing.

Even after I got out of the Navy I had recruiters stalking me, Army and Marines. I couldn't even have a beer in peace at a tavern some days. For 2 years this went on and it pissed me off.


So bleach your hair again and join Bush and company as a trusted friend and ally. I'm sure they could use another CHICKEN HAWK.





p.s When you think watching people die through your scope is something you can live with for the rest of your life, it's time for you to reassess your own life and not those of others that have a conscience.

College campuses have always been hotbeds of opposition to military recruiting. In part, that results from universities' diversity policies, which proscribe discrimination against women, gays, and other suspect classifications.





So far as the military discrimination against women, consider the fact that the Regiment of Military Police is more than 35% female, MPs are trained as infantry-plus, and they are used as infantry in the urban environment, but they do not receive hazard pay and they do not receive the CIB (and the CAB does not carry the cash/promotion/decoration status of the CIB).





And of course, 'don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue' is a joke. Though I continue to counsel IRR personnel who are being reactivated that the surest way to NOT be sent to Iraq is to make a pass at their first sergeant. Granted, they may lose a tooth or two, but that's a whole lot better than the clusterjoy waiting for them in Iraq.

Traditionally, conscientious objectors are members of very strict religious denominations that prohibit killing, even in war. When drafted, such people often perfrom their military service in a non-combat capacity, such as medics, supply people, etc. often in combat zones.





In the absence of a draft, the term is moot.





Liberals, on the other hand, are self absorbed nutcases who lack any sort of strong religious beliefs and reject the idea of objective morality, and anything else that gets in the way of them having a good time.

.. there are some who are true conscientious objectors such as SGT Alvin York of WWII. He held a deep religious belief that killing was wrong. He was sent to the battle anyway, where he realized that killing the enemy meant saving the lives of his fellow soldiers and unarmed civilians in concentration camps. His superior marksmanship and bravery led to his capture of an entire company of German soldiers by himself.





The anti-war, "anti-violence" crowd you describe turn out to be a little more violent than their chants, huh? And it was the recruiters who demonstrated non-violence and patience. I'm afraid I would not have been as accomodating.





I personally invite them (these Anti American protestors) to move to France or Iran, since they obviously do not care for the protection and rights the US military gives them.
