I just recently bought a small home w/small yard, and would like to know what kind of plants to put in it?

The house is in the mid/central florida region, so it's very rainy and humid/hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter(i've been told--since i moved here a few months ago). All there's right now is some sad looking grass and a small tree. I love flowers (pansies, daisies, etc), so would that be a good choice, and if so where do a buy them cheaply (besides Home Depot)???? thanx a million peeps!

Shasta Daisies would be nice or any other small bunchy flowers. Keep your flowers small to add to the charm of a small house, small yard = small flowers. Buy perenniels to get the most bang for your buck because it is a one time expense as they will keep coming back. Bulbs are also a good investment. You will find the flowers that you need at any local greenhouse. Pansies are beautiful but soon wilt and die with heat. Annuals have to be resown every year but are the fastest cheap fix for summer color. Start sowing seeds now.
